Under 10 Boys Season 2009/2010

Given the level of success of this age group at U9 level in both the Garforth Junior Football League (GJFL) and Charles Rice Football League (CRFL) last season and the growing number of players interested in playing for Garforth Rangers in this age group it was decided to enter two teams in each of the Garforth Junior League and the Charles Rice Junior League for the 2009/10 season.

Training will continue this season on Saturday morning (9-10.30am) on the “all weather pitch” (AWP) at Garforth Community College. Fortunately over the summer break a number of coaches including Darren Coolican , Steve Townsend and Phil Neal passed the Level 1 Certificate in coaching football, which will enable us to provide a more targeting training/coaching program to the players on a Saturday morning. We will also be able to call on the services of a Level 3 UEFA B licensed coach to help coach the coaches during the season.

Other CRB cleared helpers are planning to attend the FA1 courses during the season.

Goalkeeper coaching during training will be provided by Kevin McKenna The intention is to continue with the dedicated goalkeeper coaching with Josh to follow on straight after the usual training session on Saturday morning, when possible

It would not be possible to manage such a large group of players with out the assistance of the volunteers

Under 10’s volunteers for 2009-2010 Season

A big thank you to all the volunteers who help through-out the season. We are fortunate as an age group that we have several willing volunteers without whom the kids football would not happen.

However looking forward with an expanding player group and the transition to 11 a-side format next season we would still welcome more volunteers, particularly those with knowledge of the 11 a-side format of the game

Any parent who wishes to volunteer to help with the team (referees, coaching assistants, administration, web site/ match reports etc.) will require a CRB check. Forms can be obtained from Andy Holden, or Graham Horgan.
